ClinRisk specialises in medical software to implement risk prediction algorithms for use in clinical care.

Best known for its implementation of the QRISK®2 and QRISK®3 heart disease algorithms, now used in over 95% of UK GP surgeries, ClinRisk is also responsible for other risk scores, including QDiabetes®, QKidney®, QFracture®, QCancer®, QStroke®, QBleed®, QThrombosis® and QStatins®, which give individualised patient risk of type 2 diabetes, kidney failure, hip and other osteoporotic fracture, an undiagnosed cancer or of developing cancer later, of stroke, of haemorrhage, of thrombosis , and the risk/benefit profile of taking statins respectively.

We also developed QAdmissions®, to predict risk of emergency hospital admissions, and its sister scores QMortality® and QFrailty®, risk of death and a principled measure of frailty respectively, all three looking over a two year horizon.  QAdmissions® scores have been calculated for millions of people in the UK since its release.

The science behind each algorithm is published in peer reviewed journals and the implementation of the heart of the algorithms are published as open source software under either the GNU Lesser General Public Licence or the GNU Affero General Public Licence. This is for transparency, to help wide accessibility and to stimulate further research.

ClinRisk produces fully featured closed source .NET and Java software development kits for its risk scores, together with appropriate test data and support, to enable system suppliers to integrate them with confidence and to be formally accredited by us.

ClinRisk produces several tools which generate risk scores.  Collectively we call them QTools®.
