QRISK®3 Software development kits

Using QRISK®3 in your own system

We are currently working on implementing all our scores as a web-based REST API.  This will greatly simplify implementing QRISK®3 for healthcare solutions providers .  We will make more information on this soon.  If you are interested in being an early adopter of this new technology, do get in touch.  The text below describes our previous approach.

Several healthcare solutions providers license our software development kits for use within their products.

.NET and Java software development kits are available for this under a commercial license.  Please email us here for more details.

We strongly advise developers to license our professionally supported SDKs. With them:

  • Calculating a score is just a matter of a couple of function calls;
  • Missing values are handled appropriately, with details of estimated values substituted into the algorithm provided;
  • We include the University of Nottingham “Postcode to Townsend” deprivation table, which means a patient’s deprivation can be estimated by their postcode.
  • If you are working with existing patient records, we provide you with the full input specification.
  • We formally accredit your implementation of QRISK®3, providing a suitable test harness and data to verify your implementation.
  • We provide support, at a level suitable for an experienced programmer, to help people get up and running. Most of the users of our SDKs are up and running within a couple of days.
  • We provide annual updates — updating is simply a matter of updating data searches for the input parameters and deploying our new library. This is usually very straightforward for developers.

Users of our SDKs undergo an accreditation process with us. This ensures two things:

  • that the supplier implements the score accurately, and
  • that the end user of the software can have confidence that it has been implemented properly.
